 “Crazy Patch by the Yard”

Sondra Reich

Let’s go back to one of the oldest forms of memory and needlework projects. Ladies used to show off their talents with this art form. This can be done the old fashioned way of doing it by hand, or do yours the modern way by machine. Everyone can participate in this fun and imaginative small project. I’d like to see 100% participation. Finished project must be a square yard 36” x 36”.

July

1. Begin with crazy patch blocks; suggestion to make this a multi textured (cotton, velour, silk, satin, etc.), weight, and color.

2. Give your blocks a theme and show your creative side; suggestions ~ needlework, golf, family, gardening, religious, etc.

August

3.  Embellish your block; suggestions - blanket stitch the seams, embroidery, add some lace or other ribbons, trinkets, beads, buttons, etc.

More instructions to come….. Don’t worry they will not interfere with your project.  I promise.

Reveal is the June 2011 meeting.

We all looking forward to viewing your special creation!
